Fakunle Taiwo ODIFA did his first degree in Operations Research, at
Plymouth University U.K., his MBA at Loughborough U.K and his M.A. and Ph.D in
Economics at Leicester University U.K. In1988. He became an Economic Development
Officer in U.K. local government, then a resident economist with British Gas.
In 1996 he became Chief Executive of a UK food production business, before
returning to Nigeria in 1999 where he operated as an independent consultant in
the energy sector, specialising in privatisation and regulatory issues, before
setting up Leadmode Consult Ltd (http://www.leadmode.com)
which runs Distance Learning programmes with UK University partners in West
Africa.
Fakunle was instrumental in
setting up SHE Africa (http://sheafrica.org). SHE Africa was registered in the United Kingdom in
1995 as a charity. It was subsequently registered as a charity in Nigeria in
2007. Since its inception in Nigeria, She Africa’s
principal focus has been the welfare of children in rural communities in its
core areas of concern; Shelter, Healthcare and Education (SHE).
